Growth Mindset: The Effect of Praise on Mindsets
In the video of Carol Dweck and her demonstrating how her research on growth mindset works in the class room, she demonstrated they results of encouraging both a fixed and growth mindsets in children. As mentioned before in the Ted talk I watched before I know there is a difference in performance when encouraging correct results rather than great effort. The thing I enjoyed from this video though was actually watching how that played out with kids who are given different levels of puzzles. I am now curious on seeing this in a large class room setting when a teacher is dealing with many more students than just one and the correct way to approach growth mindsets in the environment.
