Reading Notes: PDE Mahabharata Part D

The set of brothers are going against each other with emotions continuing to heighten. As Drona executes his longtime plan of taking down Bhishma, Arjuna backs his brother up at his own risk. Both Arjuna and Bhima will both go through the loss of sons. One of the worst deaths came with Drona had his head cut off. He was taken down by Pandava's general, Dhrishtadyumna. Revenge will also be taken in honor of Draupadi by Bhima. The battle seems to come to an end when Karna and Arjuna come face to face and Karna's life will come to an end in this moment.

The the war is technically over more death and close to death event will occur. The Pandava brothers are attacked by Ashwatthaman, someone who holds a lot of supernatural power with a gem in his head.

What we continue to learn and what continues to make this tale all the more confusing, the people who apparently die do not die right away and pop back up in the story lines. Bhishma, who had "died" in the battle decides he isn't going out until he wants to.

Parikshit is brought in the storyline who is the daughter of Uttara, the daughter of the king the brothers were working for in exile. Yudhishthir, after a horse sacrifice, similar to Rama's, become a King. The remaining of the story goes off and tells of a lot of extras going on with secondary characters. Towards the end Krishna who we have come to know does die and along with it the Pandavas and their wife also decided to leave the earth.
