Week 2 Reading Overview

For our reading of Ramayana I am going to go ahead and choose the Public Domain Option as I like a more factual rather than storytelling feel and the option of Professor Gibbs reading the text and following along. I have never really been all that into reading about these topics in a story novel setting.

Comics
The first comic in which I picked is Savitri- The Perfect Wife. I really am drawn to the story that are mainly about women and goddess as I feel more of a connection with those plots. I also thought the summary was the easiest to understand and the most like a fairytale.

The second comic in which I picked is Sudama- The Power of True Friendship. When reading the summary I liked the kind plot and how it is a feel good story!

Videos
One of my pickings was the Stages of Life video. I am interested on how another culture breaks down life. It was interesting that these stages do not begin until upper education and then from there goes into marriage and parenthood (the most important), retirement and then that time right before passing.

The next video is the Crash Course on Rama and the Ramayana. I enjoy the Crash Course brand and feel that a video about Rama and going to be useful for starting the readings on him.

I chose the above pic because I really enjoy the colors of the structure as well as appreciate the talent it took to construct such a piece.
