Reading Notes: PDE Ramayana Part D

Rama along with the armies are on their way to Lanka to save Sita. Not able to cross the waters, the King of the Oceans appears and helps out. With the coming of Rama Ravana decides to set Sita off and comes to her with the illusions of her husbands head and bow making her think he has killed him until Ravana leaves for war and the illusion disappears letting Sita know it was a lie. Ravana needing more help wakes his massive brother Kumbhakarna who is a great warrior but has a large appetite that must be fulfilled before fighting as he has been asleep. It took a great deal of noise making and poking to get this man awake! Rama and his army continue to be badly attacked by Indrajit so Hanuman traveled to the mountains to gather medicine to heal his fellow soldiers. Like his father, Indrajit tries to make Rama have the illusions that Sita is dead, fortunately for Rama he has friends who let him know of what Ravana's son is doing. Rama and his men find Indrajit and Lakshmana kills him. This only angers Ravana even more. Ravana thens tries to kill Lakshmana himself but fails at it. Indra along with the other God's are above watching all of this unfold and he decides to send down backup for Rama in the form of his chariot and driver. With all of the backup Rama is receiving he is able to defeat Ravan and kill him. Rama and Sita are reconnected as Rama has won the battle for her but to Sita's surprise Rama questions if she has been loyal to him. Sita having not been touched by Ravana is pretty devastated her husband would think such a thing and steps into a fire to prove she is not "stained". Not to Sita's surprise, she is untouched by the fire just as she was by Ravana. Rama takes her back and tries to defend her actions. Rama and his bride return to Ayodhya as the fourteen year exile is coming to an end. Rama's sandals still remain at the throne and he is crowned King. The whispers of Sita and her purity is still being questioned by the people and Rama exiled his own wife. While she is a way Sita gives birth to two sons. The two sons end up able to meet their father just before Rama and his own brother die.
